Strategy & Research Analyst - Broadcasting
Our Media Industry Client is looking for a Strategy & Research Analyst to join their Strategy & Research team consisting of 13 people. The department provides a competitive advantage to our TV channel teams through industry leading analysis and insight.
The team's primary role is to provide:
The Strategy & Research Analyst
- Day-to-day activities: Research/emails/financial analysis/market analysis
- To support the Strategy & Research Senior Analyst in producing regular reports, bespoke analysis, and ad hoc commissioned research
- Respond to ad hoc requests from the channel teams regarding ratings analysis
- Regular projects/deliverables:
- Produce all daily, weekly and monthly reports timely and accurately
- Assist with the Content Tracker study of channel value
- Assist with the Programme Passion study of programme appreciation
- Assist with the development of new viewing and value measurements such as the 'Talk Track' total word of mouth communication measurement, and social media monitoring
- Work closely with the Schedulers to provide:
- Accurate forecasts of programme ratings
- Analysis on optimal slots for launching new series
- Work closely with the Commissioning and Acquisitions teams to:
- Provide viewer feedback and ratings analysis on programmes
- Provide ratings evaluations of new programmes
- To work on broader, more strategic channel projects using all resources available to the Strategy & Research team and ad hoc commissioned research
Candidate requirements
- Ideally experience and knowledge of:
- Working in media, preferably at a TV broadcaster
- Questionnaire writing
- Online research panels
- Ability to:
- Analyse data and condense findings down to concise conclusions
- Work on multiple parallel running projects
- Work quickly and accurately
- Use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Demonstrable passion for and understanding of:
- UK programming
- Entertainment channels
- Have an enquiring mind that thrives on new challenges and a dynamic environment
- Highly numerate with a high level of attention to detail
This is an initial 6 month contract role based in West London.
