Senior Software Test Engineer - Paris, France - Negotiable (Euros) - 3 Weeks - 3 months Rolling
The Senoir Software Test Engineer will:
- Work closely with Software Development, Architecture and Operations teams and all the other departments that might be affected by the product under test;
- Understand all the aspects of the business that the product under test is connected to;
- Verify that requirements are clear and equally understood by the department requiring it and people who will have to implement it;
- Write Test Plans;
- Design Test Cases based on requirements and non-functional features;
- Implement automated tests either through Scripting or programming;
- Perform regular manual and automated testing;
- Report defects and suggest improvements making use of the issue tracker in use within the Company;
- Report consistently to his/her QA Manager;
- Contribute to maintain a productive, collaborative and relaxed work environment.
1. Job functions
- Test Planning
- Employ test processes and procedures
- Analyze and understand requirements once the requirements analysis phase of projects is done, keep track of the new requirements and changes made in the product
- Verify that requirements are equally understood by either people requiring a new feature or modification of an existing one and people implementing it
- Prepare, implement and maintain a Master Test Plan
- Ensure content and structure of all Testing documents is consistent and up to date
- Analyze the hardware and software requirements for the Test Environment Setup
- Report the test requirements (Documents, Training Materials, Software Tools, Hardware, Human Resources) to Test Manager and Project Manager
2. Test Design
- Write Test Cases according to functional and not functional requirements.
- Lists data that needs to be produced as input to the tests;
- Describe status of the system under test and system integrated with it;
- Describe activities that should be executed within the test;
- Describe the resulting status of the system and list data expected as outcome of the test.
- Write Test Cases covering any issue that should be discovered and not yet covered by existing test cases;
- Prioritize tests in order of relevance for the business.
3. Test Automation
- Maintain existing automated tests;
- Implement new automated tests;
- Deploy Testing and Product code
- Knowledge of Selenium/webdriver/cucumber
- Experience using BDD/TDD
4. Test Execution
- Executes manual and automated tests in order of prioritization;
- Communicate with the Project manager, Test Manager and Development Team about testing status and related issues
- Utilize Test Management System to ensure all incidents/bugs, concern and suggestions are documented and managed to closure
5. Test Review
- Check/Review the Test Cases documents and code prepared by other Testers
- Review problem and bug reports prepared by test engineers
- Identify requirements changes
- Identify requirements and tests discrepancies
- Attend team meetings and meetings with the Development team
- Report and discuss Testing Progress (Daily, Weekly) the weekly status with management of the company
- Assist in performing any applicable maintenance of tools used in Testing
Additional Responsibilities:
- Delivers in accordance with agreed scope, acceptance criteria, time, financial and quality measures;
- Reports and escalates in a timely manner during project;
- Identify risk in his/her business and take responsibility for reporting risks in a timely, open and appropriate manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with and support test team members
Qualifications and experience:
- At least 4 years of experience in software testing
- Certifications in testing will be considered an asset
- Higher education or university engineer
- Past experience in Betting/Gaming companies will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Java
