Our client is seeking an experienced Cognos Application Architect to join their project team assisting with hands on configuration and aiding in instructing programmers accordingly. The Cognos Application Architect role will involve detailing the current state, draw conclusions for remediation plan and transition to future state impact. Architectural design and documentation at sub system level for Regional BI systems composed out of
* BDS is an Oracle based database, overall DWH component
* Broadway is a series of reports and analytical tools written using IBM Cognos
* NTS Web Portal is a web application used by Finance
* ETL Subsystem using IBM Cognos DataManager
Creation of solution architecture artefacts
* To describe Architecture Current State
* To drive and outline Current State Remediation
* To Design Future State
* To outline a transition path from current to future state
Skills:
IT skills:
* Expertise on BI Datamodelling and BI SW tools (Informatica, Oracle, Cognos BI Suite)
* Experience in running multi country, multi franchise BI environments
* Integration architecture skills along the BI processing chain: ERP to DWH, DWH to Cube
* Experience in creation of solution architecture artefacts
* Overall IT skills around SDLC
* Expertise in hardware platforms such as HP Unix systems and Windows Server are an asset
* Expertise in Kalido SW is an asset
* Expertise in MS Visio and MS Project is an asset
Solid Cognos & Oracle experience is a must - more than 5 years
