Overview:

Our client, a major UK retail bank, requires the services of a Communications Manager, who has previous experience within Retail Banking. The role is to coordinate the delivery of customer and colleague communications to support the build of a new bank, to ensure they are aware of what changes will affect their accounts and products throughout the life cycle of the programme.

Core duties of the role:

  • Ensure that there is a clearly defined approach for their area of communications and training delivery and that this is understood by all stakeholders within the business.
  • Understand the benefits of the project and how their specific area of responsibility contributes to the overall delivery of these benefits.
  • Produce or contribute to the appropriate project management deliverables, eg the requirements and plan, including producing time and cost estimates for any areas within their responsibility and tracking costs.
  • Identify and assess risks and issues to plan, effectively managing and mitigating them by putting in place appropriate contingency actions.
  • Report project progress and recommending actions to the Senior Comms Manager.
  • Identify key project or workstream stakeholders and develops an appropriate stakeholder engagement and communication plan.
  • Pro-actively manage the stakeholder relationships to ensure progress is on track and completed to the required brief.
  • Work collaboratively with their training and communications counterparts to ensure successful delivery.
  • Support the Senior Project Manager in managing the stakeholder Matrix accordingly ensuring buy in from all areas (including Products, Legal, Customer Change, Risk, Channels, Customer Services and Media).
  • Co-ordinate and lead the delivery of communications
  • Strong facilitation, presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficient project management skills and experience of working in a fast-paced project environment. Proven track record of using structured planning methods and managing risks effectively to deliver to a high standard, on time and to budget.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills and pro-active senior stakeholder management skills.
  • Organisational awareness and knowledge of the marketplace, financial products and associated legislation and regulation.
  • A flexible approach to working pattern, ability to manage own workload with minimal supervision and willingness to travel when required.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of working in a role focused on delivering training & communications preferred.
  • A working knowledge of the Bank's product set and training and communications processes preferred.

The role is due to run until 14th December 2012 to cover absence, with a possibility of the duration being extended into 2013.
