Description
This is a 9 -12 month project assignment based in United Arab Emirates for first 9 months and then a handover period as the role is transferred to Aberdeen, where the group finance function will be transferring during 2013 and established upon a Sage X3 accounting system
The role will support the existing Group CFO in the audit and consolidation process in a role that will focus on working with the existing accounts team doing the following:
- Managing the monthly closes
- Managing the consolidation
- Managing the pre-close audit in Nov, then the audit in April
- Managing the year-end - ensure all files are clean for the audit
- Managing all UK company law compliance ie UK statutory accounts and tax filings.
While the role is based in United Arab Emirates, the tax and finance structure is that of a UK group of companies and therefore will require a UK trained accountant with 7-10 years PQE. Knowledge of Focus or Greatplains would be a plus, as would experience of Sage X3.
The preferred candidate will have experience of running accounting/IFRS reporting in a small group environment, have had exposure to emerging markets, the ability to interact with auditors and be a self-starter.
Experience in subsea construction/oil and gas industry would be a plus but more important will be prior experience of managing this type of project previously.
