Vacancy - Export Controller
Duration - 3 months
Location - Hertfordshire

Outline
To proactively and comprehensively coordinate all activities related mainly to the Exporting, Importing and shipping of Company items.
Ensure that all Companies Export/Import & Customs activities conform to regulated standards & procedures.

Key Responsibilities

* Co-ordinate all Import/Export activities for the resident site, conforming to HM Revenue & Customs
Regulations and the following governing departments & organisations using the appropriate business
systems where applicable.
* HM Revenue & Customs (IPR/OPR/Intrastat
* BIS Licensing Authority (Individual & Temporary licences)
* European Space Agency Regulations
* US Departments of Defence (ITAR) and Commerce (EAR).
* Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)
* Controls & Coordinates despatching of goods via Service Provider (DHL, UPS, Laser etc) using dedicated
software provided.
* Monitor & Record all imports, both EU and outside EU, recording duty status Deferred, waiver etc
compiling and submitting monthly Intrastat declarations, liaising with Central Finance.
* Issue & sign Customs declarations, organises certificate of origin (in Various guises) with Chamber of
Commerce, ATA Carnet
* Checking of Freight/courier invoices for payment ensuring accurate costing, charging to project where
applicable in a timely manner.
* Ensure all HM Revenue & Customs duty liabilities are fulfilled, minimising cost.
Accurately marrying the exports to the imports for IPR etc.
* Raising of pro-forma invoices, obtaining information required from requestor & export control.
* To be available to the HM Revenue & Customs during the routine audits of duty Waiver etc.
* Operational liaison with National & International logistics/transportation/HM Customs
* Representation at Pre-Shipment reviews
* To be responsible for the archiving and disposal of company records in line with company policies.

Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential: PC Literate.

Desirable: Holder of Current Dangerous Goods Certificate for ADR (road) and IMDG (Sea). Holder of Current Dangerous Goods Certificate for IATA (air). Experience with SAP.

Previous Experience
Essential: Previous experience in an Import/Export/Logistics/Shipping, Transportation, Customs & Compliance Regulations experience. Good customer service skills. Good attention to detail.

Desirable: Familiarity with dangerous goods rules and regulations.
Experience within an International/multi-site Engineering, or Manufacturing environment, within the Space/Aerospace/Engineering/Automotive field.
