Grails/Groovy Developer

Have you Grails experience or Java and Groovy experience? If so Vantage Resources in Dublin would like to hear from you!

We are looking for a first rate Groovy programmer to work on a new project implementation. This is a 3 month assignment in Dublin with potential for renewal. Ideally you will have solid commercial experience of web development in Java with recent exposure to Grails or just Groovy itself.

Java/Java Grails Developer - Responsibilities/role requirements
  • Front End web development using Groovy/Grails/JQuery.
  • Expertise in best practices for web application development using MVC, action based (push) web frameworks (Grails/Rails).
  • Experience and knowledge of the Grails ORM, Hibernate.
  • Experience working in a continuous integration development environment with automated build, unit and integration tests
  • Knowledge of Web services design, development and delivery using XML/XSLT/XSD/WSDL
  • Build and Unit Test of new modules and interfaces.
  • Release Management in compliance with the DAFM IMT operations code deployment standards.
  • Any other tasks which are considered by the Department to be appropriate to the role.
  • Knowledge, understanding of and the use of an OOAD methodology.
  • English Language both spoken and written.
  • Self starter with good problem determination skills.
  • Working effectively within a team and good communication skills.
  • Proven track record in meeting deadlines.
  • Proven track record in providing skills transfer/mentoring.
