Description
For a project with the European Commission we are looking for an Analyst-Programmer (Web).- The Informatics Infrastructure in the EC's concerned department:
- Workstations: Windows 7 - Office 2010
- ColdFusion Application Server (version 8)
- Java J2EE - BEA Weblogic
- Sharepoint
- Oracle Database Server 10g-11g
- PowerDesigner database design (Oracle) and Toad
- Business Objects Reporting 6.5 SP4 (and soon: BOXI 3.1)

- Enterprise Architect
Nature of the tasks
- Analysis of user requirements and modelling of new or existing information systems.
- Prototyping.
- Writing/maintenance of applications that reflect the specifications.
- Definition and integration of technological components.
- Production of analysis and design models (eg: conceptual and physical datamodels, data flows), implementation models.
- Data analysis, Datamodelling, data quality monitoring.
- Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users.
- Elaboration of test programs.
- Production of technical documentation
- Assistance in the testing, the technical training, the deployment, the evaluation and the reporting
Knowledge and skills
- In depth knowledge of application development environments
- Good knowledge of the design and development of web and multi-tiers Internet applications
- Good knowledge of relational database systems and optimisation techniques (strong knowledge of Oracle RDBMS would be a plus)
- Knowledge of modelling tools (eg UML)
- Knowledge of iterative software development methodologies (eg RUP)
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application developments
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication
- Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in team working
- Good redaction skills.
Education and Experience
- Minimum 11 years of relevant studies and experience after the secondary school
- Minimum 6 years of IT professional experience.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the analysis and design of information systems
- Minimum 6 years of experience in development of information systems.
- Strong experience with relational databases.
- Strong experience in Internet technologies.
Specific Experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the analysis and development of applications with possibly document management facilities and electronic workflow.
- Minimum 6 years of experience with web application development (Java, PHP and/or ColdFusion).
- Minimum 6 years of experience in RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, etc.).
- Good knowledge of PL/SQL, Toad and Oracle 10/11g
- Understanding and applying SOA principles in designing loosely coupled systems based on interfaces; experience with Web Services
- Familiar with security best practices for developing Web Applications (eg SQL injection, Cross site Scripting, etc)
- Good knowledge of data-modelling tool (knowledge of 'Powerdesigner' would be a plus)

- Ability to work in a team

- Ability to follow and interpret Internal procedures and standards
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to work independently on specific tasks while at the same time functioning as a member of a project team.
- Fluent in English. (Knowledge of French would be a plus)
