A high profile Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst/Designer to join their talented and dedicated team in Canberra for an 8 month contract.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external business stakeholders to analyse and design new system functionality to support policy changes, and will coordinate with a range of teams, including Siebel development, system and user testing, data upgrade and Datawarehouse teams, to ensure the required outcome is delivered.

You will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • liaising with Executive and Senior Executive level stakeholders internally and externally, State and Territory Office representatives, non-government organisations, vendors and other external parties who may be engaged in project-related activities
  • negotiating scope within technical and resourcing limitations
  • preparing for and conducting analysis and design workshops 
  • developing and documenting functional detailed designs
  • liaising with staff and external stakeholders to ensure business needs are well understood
  • providing advice on the relative risks of project-related decisions
  • coordinating the implementation of solutions with downstream teams
  • analysing issues raised and determining resolutions
  • skills and knowledge transfer to departmental officers.
To be considered for this role you will need to have the following: 
  • High level interpersonal skills including ability to confidently present and facilitate workshops; accurately reflect business requirements in design documentation and effectively liaise and negotiate with technical and non-technical staff, internal and external business representatives at all levels and IT vendors.
  • High level organisational skills, the ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and commit to action.
  • Proven research, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the Siebel Customer Relationship Management product (desirable)
  • Knowledge of grants administration and/or child care program management (desirable)
