One of the largest Federal Government Departments is currently in search of an experienced Mainframe Developer to join their Brisbane office ASAP. 

This role will be working on the development and supporting of Production systems, where you duties will include: 

  • Design, construction and testing of software solutions in the Cool:Gen 7.6 or Cobol programming languages to meet the business requirements of the department;
  • Delivery of technical documentation;
  • Maintenance and development of large software systems within a large IBM Mainframe environment; 
  • Resolution of Mainframe system problems, with an emphasis on resolving production support problems;
  • Collaboration with business representatives, business analysts and system testers to develop software solutions that meet the business requirements of the department;
  • Skills transfer and development including guiding and mentoring team members, sharing skills with staff and learning from others.
This contract is to commence ASAP for 12 months, with the potential for a further 12 month extension.
