UX Designer; direct contract-to-hire

Irving, TX
Candidate Description:
You are a UX cowboy (or cowgirl) who isn’t afraid to get dirty and wrangle through personas and system flows. You understand that user experience is more than just a buzzword. You’re curious about the world and the web and like to try new things.
You enjoy taking complex concepts and designing simplified experiences that delight users, and know when to use a pen and paper, low-fi wireframes or other means to get your point across. You are able to create and identify taxonomies, interaction patterns, and personas; and identify use cases, document and articulate them throughout the software development lifecycle.
You’re kind of a big deal.
Required:
Knowledge of experience maps, system maps, concept maps, application structure diagrams, wireframes and wireflows, and use case and persona development
- Understanding and oftentimes use of rapid prototyping techniques
- Solid understanding of front-end, back-end, and the software development life cycle (no coding required)
- Experience with prototyping tools such as Axure, Balsamiq, SketchFlow, Visio, Omnigraffle, Keynote, etc.
- Portfolio of sample designs, including annotated wireframes, flowcharts, concept maps, and any other relevant prototyping materials
Bonus Points For:
- Telecommunications industry experience
- Page layout skills
- Ability to hand craft HTML and CSS
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator or Fireworks
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of experience in UX Design (or 5+ years without college degree)
