A great opportunity to work for a very reputable financial client. Candidates with financial background preferred.

A Compliance Manager with Testing background is required to:

  • To determine testing requirements required to ensure compliance with high risk laws and regulations.
  • Ensure testing plans are kept up to date in line with regulatory changes/changes to internal policy and risk assessments.
  • Ensure the testing plan is approved through appropriate governance routines. Testing may be a mixture of point-in-time reviews, thematic review or automated exception reviews
  • To execute compliance testing in accordance with the agreed testing plan and in line with compliance testing standards (eg standards for scoping, documentation, sample sizes and file reviews).
  • To identify issues via testing programs and ensure these are escalated appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • To effectively communicate testing results and issues to senior management, including the production of high quality management reports.
  • To monitor issues and findings to ensure timely and appropriate resolution, escalating concerns as required.
  • To conduct focused testing/thematic reviews in preparation for regulatory examinations, as required.
  • To conduct validation of regulatory issues, prior to being marked as resolved by Line of Business (RLOB).

Key Accountables:

  • Support development and regular review of annual compliance monitoring and testing plan
  • Lead the planning, scoping, fieldwork, draft reporting and finalisation of assigned point-in-time compliance reviews
  • Lead the enhancement and regular production of assigned compliance monitoring activities
  • Lead the validation of action plans completed by business areas to remediate assigned issues
  • Generate timely and effective reporting appropriate to the relevant audience which would i
    include Regulatory, Board, Executive and Management committee
  • Contribute to the continual development, promotion and maintenance of common methodologies for identifying and assessing risk and to determine the adequacy and cost effectiveness of risk treatments applied within the business
  • Identifying monitoring & testing automation opportunities and seeing them through to completion

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a second-line Compliance, Audit, Operational Risk Management or Legal department
  • Knowledge of FSA rules and/or OCC rules (specific experience in regulations relating to Payments, Complaints, Treating Customers Fairly and Insurance is preferred
  • Demonstrable strong technical knowledge of risk-based testing, monitoring and auditing approaches and have experience in leading these reviews
  • Record of identification of audit automation opportunities and seeing them through to completion - replacing, for example low assurance/high effort sampling with high assurance/low effort data interrogation techniques
  • Proven track record of influencing senior management
  • Proven track record of chairing/leading large and/or virtual teams/meetings with effective results
  • Proven ability to research, compile and present papers or reports for senior management decision making
