This is a rare and challenging opportunity for a suitably experienced Project professional to deliver ICT and IM capability at a greenfirld health facility in Brisbane. This state of the art facility will house world class health information management capabilities in Tandem with ICT as key enablers in providing positive outcomes to the wider community. The facility is dues to open in late 2014. The purpose of this role is to ensure the successful management, oversight and delivery of large scale and complex IM and ICT projects. You will report into the Project Director - Infrastructure.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the successful delivery of multiple programs and projects comprising complex and high risk projects to ensure the Project delivery outcomes are achieved.
  • Directly support and be responsible to the Senior Director - Infrastructure as an executive member of the Queensland Children's Hospital Project management team.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders by undertaking high level strategic negotiations, providing expert advice and resolving complex risks and issues within the Infrastructure Program.
  • Participate in the selection of a System Integrator (SI) and the ongoing management of the System Integrators deliverables.
  • Provide expert advice and strategic direction into the development of Infrastructure program outcomes and project deliverables to ensure they meet business case requirements, quality standards and comply with Queensland Health policies, strategies and architecture.
  • Lead the shared Queensland Children's Hospital Project vision and project interdependencies through the establishment of a set of linked plans to manage changes and to ensure all the components of the Program vision are successfully achieved.
  • Lead the integration and reconciliation of competing demands for multiple Program resources and maintain the overall integrity and coherence of the program.
  • Manage and report on program health and performance against program/project plans and budgets - monitoring the expenditures and costs against benefits that are realised as the program progresses.
  • Develop timely and relevant written submissions, briefs, presentations and information papers of a detailed and strategic nature as required in support of the Senior Director - Infrastructure.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrated high level leadership, conceptualisation and design of programs comprising multiple large-scale, complex and high risk projects.
  • Demonstrated high level program/project management skills, with the ability to achieve successful program outcomes using project management methodologies; specifically Prince2 and MSP
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor multiple multi-disciplinary program and/or project teams including the communication with senior and executive.
