The contract is with a consultancy in Brussels to be on an assignment at a large European site.

CONTEXT/INTRODUCTION

SMT is the Service Management Tool of the European Commission. SMT is a corporate and cooperative application used by the IT support teams in all the Directorates General ("local service desks", 2nd level service support) and in DIGIT (3rd level central support teams) to support all IT users in the EC. DIGIT is responsible for SMT overall management and evolution.

SMT is aligned with ITIL and implements the following processes: - Incident Management; - Problem Management; - Change Management; - Release Management; - Configuration Management; - Service Level Management

SMT is based on two software packages: Service Manager 9.30. A complex customisation layer has been implemented in-house to adapt the tool to specific EC business needs.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The assignment consists in supporting and assisting the SMT Administration team in day-by-day administration actions, under the supervision of the SMT administrator team coordinator.

REQUIRED SKILLS:-

- Language: French/English (mandatory)
- HP ServiceManager 9 (Advanced administrator and basic development)
- Database integration tool: Peregrine/HP Connect-it/Business Objects Data Integrator
- SQL language knowledge
- Oracle database knowledge (for accessing, analysing and tuning)
- Basic knowledge of Unix Solaris
- Business Objects tools
- ITIL foundation methodology certified

LOCATION AND SCHEDULES

The SMT Team is located in the Centre of Brussels, in the EC Buildings.

The team needs to cover a 8h-18h on-site service that include a turntable shift. The Administrator must be on site at 8am or cannot leave the office before 18h at least 3 weeks per month. (mandatory to cover the service with 3 administrators)

The service includes a 24/24h 7/7d standby service. The Administrator must apply a standby service one week per month.
