We have an urgent requirement for a Strategic Communications Planner to work for a large financial services group based in Canary Wharf. The right person for this role will have strong experience of agency planning (creative agencies rather than media agencies) and/or client-side marketing manager roles. This position is based in London but with some travel to other sites in the south west probably once every two weeks. Rate circa £400/day.

Job purpose:

  • To work with internal Brand and Advertising Teams to ensure media-neutral communication planning is in place to develop the overall communication strategy the company.
  • Work with business units to develop a fully integrated Marketing Communication Plan that is rooted/driven by customer insight
  • Support processes that prioritise business opportunities and maximize ROI
  • Support other business units when translating tactical commercial goals and challenges to actionable testing and delivery plans
  • To build strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

Main accountabilities:

  • Apply an integrated communications planning (ICP) approach to group activity that considers the relationship between the consumer, brand and channel to identify the most efficient and effective means of reaching a consumer
  • Develop Marketing Communications strategies that are aligned with the business strategy and priorities, challenging business line plans where required
  • Use market analysis, customer and competitor insight to effectively develop all marketing communication plans/robust testing principles and w ork with business units to review campaign results in order to shape and refine future communications activity
  • Deploy a media-neutral planning approach, drawing upon the specialist knowledge and expertise of our strategic agency partners as and when required
  • Have a full understanding of the consumer decision making process and the customer journey to determine relevant communications at each touch point/contact strategy
  • Act as key link to the planning department in relation to campaign and creative development
  • Produce inspiring creative briefs that reflect the agreed activity and provide these to the Campaign Management Team for implementation
