Structural Engineer/Abaqus/Staad/PHD/MSC/Immediate Start/6 months/County Durham

Duration: 6 months minimum (Contract)
Rate: Negotiable
My client is a world leading company within the Oil & Gas sector. They are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer within their Equipment department.
To be considered, it is expected that you will be able to transfer theoretical solutions into practical
solutions for manufacturing, and have a demonstrable track record of achievement within Structural Engineering.
The Role:
*To advise Mechanical engineers in structure issues.
*Follow up 3rd party approval from DNV and ABS.
*Use of Staad Pro for beam and element modelling as well as Abaqus for element modelling.
*Produce hand calculations by use of basic formula's for preliminary calculations.
Qualifications Required:
*PHD or MSC
*Knowledge of relevant regulations preferred (ABS, DNV, Eurocode 3)
*The ability to see the Load Path through a structure without calculations.
*More than 5 years' relevant experience.

*Excellent Communication skills and co-operative skills.
*Someone who can work independently and as an excellent team player.
*The ability to transfer theoretical solutions into practical solutions for manufacturing.
*The ability to produce quality work to tight deadlines.
