Server Operations Support Analyst - Windows/Unix/Red Hat Linux/VMS/SQL Server/Oracle/DB2
My client a leading global operator of financial markets and provider of innovative trading technologies is looking for a Service Operations Support Analyst for a 6 month contract based in their office in Basildon.
This role will be working as part of the Service Operations shift teams who are responsible for all of Global IT Operations (GITOps) production live and customer test environments. The Service Operations department is customer facing, operating under commercial service level agreements. The Service Operations Support Analyst will work on a shift basis with prime emphasis on the monitoring and technical support of production & customer test platforms. Troubleshooting issues relating to the network, database, infrastructure or applications, Contributing to serious incident, change and problem management.
Essential:
- 3+ years of financial support experience preferably in a global operation
- Knowledge of Back Office processes
- Knowledge of financial markets
- Analytical and Diagnostic Skills
- Excellent oral and written presentation abilities together with strong interpersonal skills
- Broad Technical skill set including admin experience of some of the following: Windows, UNIX, Red Hat Linux, VMS and Client Server systems. For databases: SQL Server/Oracle/DB2 plus demonstrable SQL analytical skills.
- A degree or equivalent in a computer related subject.
- Professional and proactive manner dealing with all project sponsors, customers and technical staff
Desirable:
- Support of applications using .NET 2.0, 3.0 ASP and Windows applications and services
- SQL Server 2005 (DBA experience advantageous), 2000 Database, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
- ITIL Foundation Certification v3
- Unix Secure Shell Scripting, Korn Shell, Perl
- Web Services WCF
- Any knowledge of futures and equity derivative products
