A Mechanical Design Engineer is required to undertake a 3-6 month contract vacancy based on-site in Essex.

The successful candidate will ideally have excellent Consumer Electronics or Medical industry experience.

The role will require you to support the Industrial Design Team in order to turn cutting edge, innovative design into products. You will be working alongside one of the existing engineers and supply chain teams who will provide the continuity.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven track record in mechanical design/engineering
  • Sound background in material selection and tooling processes/design/production to include plastics, plastic & metal extrusion and Metalwork
  • Ability to take creative design and protect its integrity through the engineering process
  • A strong design for manufacture ethos
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to solve problems and embrace challenge
  • Be able to take briefs & instruction from product team
  • A pro-active and methodical approach
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisational skills
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Work effectively under tight timescales
  • An interest in emerging technologies and product design

Experience:
Expert knowledge in ProEngineer CREO 1.0 or Wildfire 5, AutoCAD and Thermal Simulation Software and proven track record in taking design through to mass production

Location:
Primary location will be Brentwood, Essex - However it's expected that time will need to spent with the Project Team in Osterley, Middlesex on a needs be basis.
