Description
Design the mobile access network in order to offer high performance and high quality network to our customers during events (Music festivals)
- Pre-analysis of the radio design (2G, 2.5G, 3G)
With event detailed information's, last year results and traffic evolution/forecast, prepare a first draft with needed upgrades on existing sites and addition of temporary sites (location and configuration).
- Participate to the Challenge meetings where the final design will be validated by all teams involved and where all actions to launch will be defined.
- Order health report if needed
- Launch network modifications, prepare radio parameters and follow the installation of new materials.
- Assure a perfect reflection of the access network configuration and modifications in the design databases and adapt power if recommended by the health report.
- Optimize the event area as soon as the event configuration is in place (drive test analysis/testing on the field)
- Network Monitoring: close follow up the network behavior during the event and take corrective actions if required. Always assure a good communication towards involved people.
- Prepare a post-event report with results and main figures.
- Network fallback: Launch all actions in order to re-establish the non-event network access configuration and update design databases.
What makes the job difficult to perform?
- Knowledge of multiple radio access technologies (2G, 2,5G, 3G) is needed
- 3G network usage is increasing a lot and represents a real challenge during events
- The need for creativity: we have to play with several constraints (building authorizations, health environment ) to achieve our objective.
- Not only technical knowledge is required: communication skills and team player attitude are required to find solutions that are accepted by the colleagues responsible for temporary site acquisition/installation and the event project managers.
