Investment Bank application support analyst

A senior application support analyst is required for a leading investment bank in the New York City. This role sits within the Fixed Income Front Office although experience here is not a requirement in this instance. The group itself supports the suite of Fixed Income applications, providing on-site support with some out of hours remote support (experience with working with an offshore team would be beneficial)

The role responsibilities are as follows:
- Raising incident tickets
- Liaising with internal clients
- Escalation of some issues to development
- Analysing problems using application log files, database queries, tools like JConsole and Geneos

The platform itself comprises of both RDBMS and Data Warehouses, JAVA apps on Linux and some Legacy C++ on Windows plus C# Front End.

Essential experience in this role is as follows:
- UNIX
- Sybase ASE and or IQ

Candidates must have excellent communication skills and a problem solving nature
