Senior Procurement Manager
We are looking for a Senior Procurement Manager for up to 18 months starting ASAP paying a rate of c£400

Duration: Up to 18 months.
Accountabilities:
1.Development and implementation of procurement strategies focussed on the needs of the project ensuring that the optimal commercial approach is adopted and procurement related benefits are realised. Lead discussions with Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) and governance boards to agree and implement the most effective procurement approach contributing to the development and implementation of overall project aims and plans.
2.Provide professional procurement advice and manage commercial negotiation on behalf of the customer project teams, liaising with appropriate stakeholders to ensure the clients commercial position is maximised and protected.
3.Responsible for the managing supplier interfaces, providing leadership and guidance on an holistic approach to achieving savings, risk identification and mitigation.
4.Ensure commercially sound decisions are made when appointing contractors, including the identification of innovative approaches, options appraisal and problem solving to provide optimal solutions for the client.
5.Creating and management of project plans relating to procurement activities that will form part of the overall project/programme plans.
6.Provide guidance to ensure compliance with the client's statutory obligations, and that commercial, procurement and legal risk is understood, managed, and minimised.

You must have a high degree of ownership & innovation in solving problems, be a team player & respect different opinions & needs, & produce a consensus. Must have strong communication & listening skills.
The successful candidate will have worked within a similar position. A public sector background is highly advantageous.
