Our client has a requirement for an Information Systems Manager/ICT Manager to lead a busy team in Middlesex/North West London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of information technology systems across the organisation. Working closely with decision makers and stakeholders, the jobholder is expected to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost effective technology solutions. In addition the manager will define and implement information technology policies, procedures, and best practice, as appropriate.

The successful candidate will also manage the delivery of IT systems and services for the businesses. This encompasses; Networked and Desktop IT, Remote Access, Telephony, Audio visual aids, Business management systems, and their associated hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of an IT strategy that fully supports the aims and objectives of the individual businesses
  • Development and presentation of business cases to support the acquisition of new business systems and equipment
  • Project management of Information Technology projects, the introduction of new business systems, and the maintenance and continuous development of existing key business systems
  • Ensure the delivery and availability of a high performance and secure service to the businesses that enables users to work efficiently.
  • Propose, develop and deliver business automation tools, including workflow and document management.
  • Provide and manage an effective Service Desk support function for all end users that accords with industry best practice.
  • Management of IT service providers and the associated supplier/vendor relationships
  • Leadership of an IS Team across 3 sites (currently 7 staff)
  • Management of the Departmental Budget and capital expenditure programme
  • Continuous development and maintenance of the Backup and Disaster Recovery processes in line with industry best practice
  • Maintaining 24x7 emergency IT support contact
  • Maintenance, monitoring and updating of the IT security accreditation to meet current Government and CESG requirements

Knowledge, experience and skills required:

  • Strategic planning
  • Technical awareness of a broad area of IT systems and security to enable the candidate take a strategic overview
  • ERP (SAP, Oracle)
  • Experience of implementing and maintaining processes and procedures required for Aerospace or UK government security accreditations (networks and systems IL3 to IL5) is desirable
  • Experience of implementing network systems: KACE, Fireye, X-Kryptor, Becrypt, Web Proxy, Logrythm, Riverbed, WAN services, Protective Monitoring services
  • Experience of implementing key business systems: Epicor, PDM Windchill
  • Ability to manage a team from both the line and resource perspectives
  • Experience of managing a technical team, covering both infrastructure and application services for >400users.
  • Experience of managing project portfolios including software/hardware rollouts, server system upgrades etc

Due to the nature of the work candidates will need to hold UK Government Security Clearance (SC level) or be willing to undergo the vetting process.
