Senior Software Engineer
Helsinki, Finland - Ref: TRF-Eng
The Position:
The Senior Software Engineer sought is expected to take over the existing bespoke solution developer as a set of VBA scripts and SQK stored procedures and contribute to its consolidation, further improvement and transitioning into a mature product.
This includes the following activities (not exhaustive):
- Production of Software and documentation supporting the VBA modules deployed as MS Excel Add-in
- Improvement and optimization of the VBA whenever deemed necessary always in cooperation with the relevant Software Architect and in line with the chosen architecture
- Improvement and optimization of Server Side modules (ie SQL based Scripting; stored procedures; triggers; etc.) and server configuration (ie indexes; security; etc.) for enhanced performances, optimal scalability and reduced maintenance)
- Production of exhaustive documentation concerning the underpinned data model (based on CA-Erwin) for improved maintenance and development
- Production of documentation for end-user and supporting staff (ie user manuals; troubleshooting list for ICT Helpdesk; Q etc.)
- Contribution to tasks deriving from the training needs to be addressed
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be expected to possess the following:
- University degree in Information Technology
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft .NET Framework technologies
- Experience in managing and operating Relational Database Management System such as MS-SQL Server 2003 or later
- Practical experience in the production of software automation modules extending standard MS Office functionalities and deep knowledge of Scripting languages (VBA)
- Practical experience with CA-Erwin will be counted as an advantage
- Experience in Datamodelling activities (ie definition and maintenance of entity-relation diagrams; production and maintenance of physical and logical schemas; use of forward and reverse engineering techniques applied to data models)
- Knowledge of the MS-Excel object and even model (ie DOM; use of methods and properties in Scripting languages - VBA)
- Experience with integrating MS Active Directory services and experience with MS Sharepoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Good Team spirit and able to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
