We have an opportunity for an Application Packager:
You will be able to manage the application life cycle from an initial discovery session, to packaging, UAT and pilot roll out to ensure that packages are completed to defined standards and within timescales agreed with the business; cloning all server and Workstation builds using VMware for application package installation and functionality testing; on-going management of software distribution toolset enabling the business to have access to the right applications.
The Specific -
- To assist with a Windows 7 migration that requires Legacy travel applications transformed to operate on a new target infrastructure.
- The role is based in Paris with some travel to other locations in France.
MUST be fluent in French and able to engage and understand at a business level.
Key responsibilities -
- Conduct ICI capture sessions within specified timeframe.
- Package applications in accordance to agreed standards.
- Deployment test applications returned by the packaging factory within a specified timeframe
- QA returned packages
- Assess software for packaging and recommend appropriate packaging method
- Maintain the test environment to reflect production desktop and server hardware
- Review and maintain packaging toolset in line with new and emerging technologies
- Identify and manage problems and technical issues encountered during execution of the end to end packaging process
- Liaise with project and application teams regarding key packaging issues
