Mission/function description

Our lcient is looking for an IT-consultant who combines the skills of IT architect with knowledge of security both on the application and infrastructure level. As security is a highly important aspect in the NBB application architecture, the skill set of the candidate may not be limited to in-depth knowledge of common application frameworks and software factory tools but must be complemented with at least general kowledge in secure web-based application designs including web application Firewalls (OWASP-10 virtual patching protection), XML Firewalls, HTTPS mutual authentication, digitally signed messages [PKCS#7, S/MIME, ...) .

His primary mission is to assist our application project managers in the elaboration of their application architecture and help to choose the most appropriate platform/tools. S/He will create the application architectural proposal with special focus on the dataflows going through the different infrastructure components.

S/He will need to have a good understanding of many technical aspects of the IT-industry and be willing to acquire a good knowledge of NBB business needs and strategies. The candidate will need to have excellent communication and redactional skills.

Secondly, s/he will assist the Technology Manager in defining and/or improving the global Reference Architecture. Thirdly, s/he will assist in the (technical) supervision of the application & technical projects to assure that they fit into the architectural principles and that all quality requirements have been taken into account.

Concrete tasks

  • Analyse requirements and propose architecture design(s) for differentcomponents/aspects of a project.
  • Be a pillar in architecture in close collaboration with teammembers.
  • Able to solve architectural issues within the current architecture or by changing the architecture with minimal impact.
  • (Co-develop )
  • Coach teammembers in the used frameworks, agile methods, overall architecture principles and guidelines as used in project architecture
  • Guard that the architecture is implemented as expected
  • The candidate will prove his high level of skills and great reliability.

Languages

  • Active knowledge of Dutch - French and/or English.
  • Good redactional skills including English.

Technical knowledge

  • Not limited to application coding/architecture but at least general knowledge of the interaction with infrastructure components like web application Firewalls, load balancers, .....
  • Integration between WEB security products (WAM,..) and applications;
  • On hands experience with architecture and design patterns and common good practices
  • Experience with application development
  • J2SE/J2EE 5 experience and having the spirit of Open Source tools and libraries
  • Knowledge of enterprise service bus and business process modelling.
  • Experience into finding the good granularity of shared services in a SOA architecture
  • has knowledge of standards and their acceptance by products.
  • Application Servers (more specific Tomcat, WebSphere, GlassFish)
  • EAI/B2B/ESB technologies
  • Java Frameworks: Spring portfolio, JPA (Hibernate), JSF, JUnit
  • Experience with relational database and O/R mapping. (by preference Oracle).
  • The role of Business Intelligence in application projects;
