Description
Government department requires Communications Advisers x 2 to assist the Corporate Communications Manager in the development and delivery of the corporate communications strategy, taking the lead on specific projects. The post holder will ensure the delivery of communications activities on time, within budget and against agreed objectives. They will ensure the effective targeting and co-ordination of communications activities to promote engagement of the full range of stakeholders. They will use project management techniques to deliver discrete projects and to deliver and review comms activities covering change and business as usual activities. They will promote collaborative cross-team working and skills development within the team to ensure that wider objectives are met. This will be a varied role in a busy environment. The post holder will work as part of the corporate communications team reporting to the Corporate Communications Manager.
Skills Required
Essential:
Several years experience encompassing responsibility for front-line operational service delivery in a similar or related profession (eg marketing or PR); Strong drafting/copywriting skills; Excellent project management skills; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate ideas clearly and persuasively; Experience of building business partnerships within a large service organisation; Political and cultural awareness within organizational context; Strong IT skills across main MS Office applications (Projects, Powerpoint, Word, Excel)
Desirable:
Understanding of corporate communications within Civil Service or other public service environment; Past exposure to operating in a commercial environment or one which has undergone major change; Commercial awareness and customer focus; Relevant professional qualification; Experience of developing/editing magazines, newsletters or similar.
Qualifications Required
