Our federal government client is currently looking for two Mainframe Developers to help finalise the introduction of major changes to the existing systems in a major improvement project.

This is a 6 month contract and will include 1x6 month extension option.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, constructing and testing software solutions in a TELON/Cobol/CA GEN 7.n or 8.n programming environment to meet the business requirements.
  • Delivery of technical documentation.
  • Collaboration with business representatives, business analysts, system testers and other stakeholders to develop software solutions that meet the business requirements.
  • Provide consultation on design proposals.

Selection Criteria:

  • Extensive experience in developing software in a CA Gen 7.n or 8.n environment.
  • Highly developed coding skills in TELON/Cobol programming language and knowledge of using SAS are highly desirable.
  • Experience in maintenance and/or the development of large software systems within a large IBM Mainframe environment.
  • Experience in the design and development of large scale Mainframe systems.
  • Experience in the resolution of Mainframe system problems, with an emphasis on production support problems.
  • DB2 (in particular database interrogation/update skills using SQL via Princeton/Platinum/SPUFI and submitted jobs).
