We are currently seeking an experienced Oracle Developer to join the data services team providing database design and development skills. The successful candidate will join the Architecture and Shared Technology Services (ASTS) Database Group working on a project in the Asset Allocation Division.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Oracle Database development, with demonstrable experience of writing consistent, reliable and maintainable code and database design. The individual will have a strong client and focus and be results orientated. The successful candidate will join our team in Galway working with other technical groups in a highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment

This position requires good interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, a team player attitude with attention to detail, and willingness to take ownership of assigned projects. This delivery oriented candidate must be able to respond to rapid change working in a fast paced Agile environment and demonstrate exceptional problem solving skills while producing value added results.

Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience in Oracle SQL & PL/SQL

o Expertise in data analysis and excellent debugging skills
o Experience in SQL performance tuning
o Experience in designing the appropriate data access layer for multiple Real Time and batch applications

  • Comfortable with multiple database concepts, ie RDBMS, OODB, ODS, Warehouse
  • Familiarity with logical data modelling and relational database design experience using the CASE tool PowerDesigner
  • Experience in working with source control systems (preferably Clearcase)
  • Experience in working in UNIX environment.
  • Experience working with project teams located in multiple geographic locations.
  • Experience in delivering projects using Agile methodology.

  • Role may involve some travel outside Ireland

Additional skills desired, but not required:

  • Experience in using utPLSQL
  • Data movement and ETL experience (preferably Informatica)
  • Financial systems knowledge (preferably brokerage or mutual fund knowledge with an emphasis on portfolio modelling/allocation, separate account management, etc.)
  • Experience in working with Job scheduling tools (preferably Autosys)
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration methodologies would be desirable
  • Oracle Certification would be highly desirable
