Job Title: Software License Administrator
Reporting to: Group Software Manager
Salary: up to 350 p/d

My client is the world leader in marketing communications services. Providing Group IT as a global presence.

Overall Purpose of the Role

The Group Software Management area within the Group IT function works to ensure that the business satisfies two main objectives:

1.Puts in place effective software licensing contracts for all major vendors that enable Operating Companies to acquire and operate software on the best commercial terms.
2.Implements and operates a group wide asset management system working to implement standards and promote compliance in the use of all software across the business.

Based at our offices in Central London, the primary aim of this role is to support the manager responsible for the procurement aspect of the overall software management function, whilst also balancing the asset management process.

The ideal candidate should have a good working knowledge of software licensing and at least three years experience of working in a corporate environment with a global remit. For a self starter with a positive attitude there is an opportunity to build knowledge within a burgeoning area of asset management.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience

Candidates will only be considered if they are able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

Experience within the IT industry either within a reseller, consultancy, software vendor, major reseller or within a procurement department of a large global corporation
Licensing models for as many as possible of Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM in an international environment
The candidate will be required to operate within a sophisticated network of vendors, stakeholders, suppliers, technologists and senior executives around the world. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential.
Team player
Proven analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail
Must be adept in the use of Excel

It would be beneficial for the candidate to have experience in the following areas:

Working with Finance to operate internal recharging processes for Global Software contracts
Administrative support
Wider understanding of software asset management

Key Responsibilities in the following areas:

1.Operations
Manage day to day software related queries
Promote the full deployment of asset management system, carrying out regular analyses of deployment activity
Software Benefit Administration
Assist in the preparation of recharge cost allocations for all group purchases
Contracts Administration

2. Vendor Management
To assist in the management, development and maintenance of effective working relationships with the vendor account teams
To keep up to date with software license offerings from all major vendors and help facilitate maximum value from the vendor global offering e.g. help coordinate support, training, other benefits
To assist the GSM Team in monitoring the performance of suppliers against the service deliverables
To participate in regular calls and meetings to address issues, review progress with aspects of contracts and service where appropriate
To assist the GSM Team in overseeing the implementation of new vendor programs across the group

3.Cost control
To assist in the implementation of the Software Inventory Management System
To keep up to date and understand license and product changes that will have an impact on the software estate

4.Compliance
Analyse and interpret software inventory reports
Proactively ensure that all Group companies are fully utilising our contracts
Ensure the software assets of new acquisitions are successfully integrated into our contracts

Remuneration

Up to 350 per day
