3G RAN Designer/Solution Architect

Job description:

The Service Delivery Unit (SDU) 'Planning' is one of seven SDU's that together constitutes the Local Service Organization NL (LSO-NL). To handle the increased workload and upcoming projects, we are looking for a candidate who can fulfil the position of 3G RAN Design Engineer, within the RAN Development domain.

The RAN Design Engineer's knowledge and experience will (together with his or her colleagues) form and contribute to the LSO-NL knowledge centre.

Tasks and responsibilities:

- Daily capacity management of RNC load;
- Produce High Level & Low Level designs or contribute to cross domain designs, like RNC expansions, replacements or phase outs;
- As a designer, participate in and contribute to RAN Soft- and Hardware upgrade projects (implementation and/or verification of new software releases);
- Contribute and deliver feature introductions and parameter changes in the UTRAN (New Technology Introductions);
- As a designer participate in and contribute to Pilot of Trial projects;
- As a designer, provide support to the roll-out process of SDU Network Deployment

Candidate Profile:

- Master/Bachelor degree (technical/telecommunications)
- Broad Telecoms, IT and Technology experience
- Experience with and strong knowledge of 3G Features and their parameters
- Strong experience with Network Optimization and Performance Management of 3G Access Networks
- Strong experience with and knowledge of GSM/UMTS/LTE Access
- Broad overview of Core and Transport (Transmission, IP) technologies and Protocols
- Advanced understanding of Wireless Network architecture, Technologies, concepts and standards (eg 3GPP, ITU-T)
- At least 6 years of relevant experience working experience (at least 4 years in branch)
- Independent, but also team player
