This is an initial 6 month contract, the hourly rate will be dependant on the candidate's experience and skills. Candidates must have UK Mod security clearance to SC level initially and must be prepared to undergo vetting to DV level. Anyone who is not eligible for SC or DV clearance cannot be considered for the role.

Working directly for the System Design Team Leader within a team of system engineers.
Collaboration with colleagues variously responsible for system requirements, system simulation and verification.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Definition of system aspects as directed by the System Design Team Leader.
Maintenance of system integrity and coherence during the design process.
Formalisation of solution description, architectural design and requirements.
Formalisation of the components specification used to develop the solution.
Demonstration that the solution satisfies the overall approved operational need.
Demonstration that the solution meets the national standards (TRD & NORMS) for the Nuclear industry

Skills

Experience in practical design and implementation of physical security systems (CCTV (field of view calculations, determination of dead zones etc), light level specifications/calculations, perimeter intrusion detection systems)
Knowledge of existing and new nation security system specifications for the nuclear industry (TRD & NORMS)
Experience in the production of System-Subsystem Design Specifications.
Experience in the production of Interface Design Specifications.
