Description
Our client is seeking a Fuel Systems Engineer to provide reactive support and fuel systems design tasks at their site at Bristol.The position requires work within a team of fluid mechanical and C&I personnel completing design and analysis of aircraft fuel system design. This position includes a strong customer focus aspect and offers the opportunity to travel as well as work closely with Fuel System component suppliers from around the world.
This role is within a small engineering team reporting to the team leader. The activities of the team relate to the investigation and correction of in-service difficulties experienced by the airlines. These activities relate to the Fuel System on a fleet of in-service aircraft. This includes for instance Pumps, Valves, Actuators, Fuel Quantity Indication and Intank Fuel equipment. This role requires an understanding of Electro/Hydro-Mechanical and Control & Indication equipment.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for the following:
* Planning and completing fuel system design tasks using a range of analysis tools and methods
* Attending and presenting design aspects at design reviews
* Managing suppliers daily to ensure delivery to program
* Communicating with Chief Engineers, System Safety, Reactive Support and Customer Services teams to ensure completeness of design
For In-service Issues the successful candidate will be required to:
* understand and confirm the specifics of the problem
* check any historical data across the aircraft type for similar events
* review all available data and confirm any Failure Report from the Equipment Supplier
* generate technical reports as necessary to capture the history of the event
* propose modification to the equipment or updates to the aircraft operation as appropriate
* review applicability to other component positions on the aircraft, evaluate any system level effects and generate technical reports as appropriate.
