Description
Working within defined TOGAF based framework, you will be tasked with producing practical re-usable Solution Architectures and providing technical leadership and guidance for a team of highly skilled multi-disciplined infrastructure and application professionals. In addition you will play a key role in new business tenders and RFPs as well as post-sales delivery.The ideal Wintel Solutions Architect will have a proven track record of being a Wintel Infrastructure
Architect and a solid background as a Wintel Engineer.
Required knowledge, skills and experience:
You will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding and experience with most of the following
-VMware virtualisation
-Microsoft stack (Wintel Infrastructure)
-IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions
-Information Systems architectures
-Networks (including networking concepts, CISCO and Juniper technology)
-Firewalls, VPN, Load Balancers, TCP/IP and DNS
-Citrix
-Enterprise Storage and Backup architectures
-Enterprise document management systems
-Capacity planning, performance tuning & Non Functional Requirements
-Ability to understand business requirements, solution architectures, non-functional requirements and transform them into infrastructure architecture
-Data Warehouse and Database Design
Desireables:
Demonstrable experience of solutions and troubleshooting complex problems with several of the following technologies:
-IBM WebSphere Application Server or
-WebsphereMQ or Messaging knowledge
-JBOSS Application Server
-LDAP or Directory Server or Identity Management subject knowledge

-Lloyd's/London Market Insurance
-Financial Services
Contract role with the potential to extend or convert to perm
