Our client designs and manufactures a wide range of innovative and fuel efficient vehicle systems for commercial transportation and due to ongoing expansion now has a requirement for a Contract Mechanical or Electrical Design Engineer responsible for researching, planning, and developing new or improving existing applications using engineering principles and to complete projects within the product development guidelines to product performance requirements, cost, and schedule.
Responsibilities
" Preparation, production and modification of design schemes, calculations, specification and detail drawings for company products.
" Manage design through to production and beyond
" Review incoming engineering change requests, service quality reports etc. and prepare appropriate responses.
" Develop expertise in mechanical or electrical vehicle systems design.
Experience
" CAD trained and able to produce work of a high quality to BS8888
" Ability to use CAE tools, specifically 2D and 3D design (ideally Solidedge or Electrical)
" Ability to analyse and solve design problems
" Solid comprehension of electrical or mechanical reasoning, physics, metalworks and/or plastics
" Degree or HND in Electrical Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
