Maintenance Controls/Service Engineers required to work on machining maintenance, specifically PLC control system platforms (Fanuc, Siemens, Allan Bradley).Accountabilities
Working as a multifunctional team member the job holder will be responsible for providing technical assistance to the maintenance operations team in the form of system diagnostics & structured problem solving through to full issue resolution.
Autonomously resolve software based issues & provide software modifications for improvement developing a standardized approach that permanently eliminates issues & increases OEE, product quality, throughput or safety.
Main activities
Developing PLC/CNC control systems for new & existing assets
Participate in the Capital investment programme for the site actively contributing systems knowledge to the multi functional investment team.
Develop the technical knowledge base improving our Intellectual knowledge leading to complete self reliance for maintenance issues. Including coaching & knowledge transfer.
Support the development a controls system strategy for Internal Supply & Support that aligns to harmonised transnational best practice.
Ensure that work is executed in accordance with customer standards, regulatory requirements and appropriate legislation
Provide documentation to support the retention of intellectual knowledge
Provide project management support to the business
Develop & deploy a system for acceptance testing
Maintain and repair plant and equipment in a safe and productive manner
Ensure all installations are completed in accordance with specifications provided.
Outputs
Provide support for Hardware and Software systems including diagnostic evaluations structured problem solving & root cause issue resolutions
Support the development of clear accurate specifications for asset acquisition
Year-on-year improvement in MTTR leading to asset OEE improvements through effective use of asset diagnostic tools.
Educational Qualifications:
Educated to Degree/HND level or equivalent experience in a relevant area
IOSH or NEBOSH certificate level
Technical knowledge:
Broad knowledge technical knowledge of control systems
Subcontractor and Contract Monitoring, performance management and Surveillance
Fluent English negotiation level (commercial and technical).
Office IT tools: Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Desirable: Understanding of Lean tools & techniques
Desirable: Understanding of OHSAS18001 & ISO14001
A background in writing & fault diagnosing control systems with either Fanuc, Siemens, Allan Bradley or another PLC Control System platform
Technical competence in EIC discipline including live plant experience of problem solving, commissioning and maintenance
