VB.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Web Developer. To 350pd. StaffordshireMajor eCommerce Co requires experienced .Net Web Applications Developer (VB.NET, ASP.NET, JQuery, SQL) with strong UI, rich client side development and data access skills to work for 3-6 months + in an established, busy, professional team working on a mix of new and existing product developments using latest technologies. Based in the Potteries, Staffordshire - they are commutable from Macclesfield, Crewe, Northwich, Shropshire, Derbyshire, Stafford and Wolverhampton etc and offer free parking on site.
Essential Skills and experience:
Degree education in a relevant Computing/IT discipline or having equivalent commercial experience
Circa 3-5 years+solid commercial .NET based web applications development experience using predominately VB.NET or a mix of VB.NET AND C#.NET (Must be able to hit the ground running in VB.NET)
MS SQL server experience (2005+)
Previous experience of working on high-availability multi-user n-tier systems
Skills in as many as possible of: XHTML, XML, XSLT, CSS 2/3, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax
Solid software project life cycle experience
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Secure payment transaction systems experience
Unit Testing and Automated Test tool experience (any)
Exposure to TDD (Test driven development)
Use of Source Control Software
Exposure to HTML5
Any SEO knowledge
Any SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) knowledge
