An exciting contract opportunity for an experienced skilled Metalwork Engineer has arisen with our client who is fast becoming a market leader in providing vehicle seat solutions from one-off concept vehicles through to low volume manufacture.

The successful candidate will have seat specific experience or a similar light engineered product in the automotive sector.

You must have served an engineering apprenticeship and have a minimum of 3 years experience post-apprenticeship, a wide range of metal skills and enjoy a variety of work from one-off concept to low volume tool manufacturing.

This urgent requirement requires an experienced Engineer who is competent with metal development machinery, blank presswork and steel welding.

Ability to work from a drawing and familiar with press brake. Excellent proven experience of MIG welding of components and structures typically 1.5 - 4mm thick steel on a range of joints of tube, pressings, wire and mesh. Ability to work with wood or plastic to manufacture a jig for one-off concepts.

It would be an advantage if you also had some machining ability ie; to turn one-off and small batch components typically bushes, spacers and tool locations. Familiarity and competency with Milling on Bridgeport CNC machines be beneficial.
