We are a leading UK-based architecture consultancy specialising in strategy, enterprise and solutions architecture. Currently, we have a contract opportunity for a data architect with data design experience to work on a significant transformation programme for our retail client starting early December 2012. The contract is expected to last between 6 - 9 months.

The right applicant will have:

Professional experience
•Solid, demonstrable experience as a data architect
•Data modelling, design and database management expertise
•In depth understanding of database design & architecture principles
•Solid IT design/development experience
•Full project lifecycle data design experience on two or more significant implementations within medium to large organisations
•Good understanding of financial and business processes and applications

Technical experience
•Good appreciation of Microsoft .NET, J2EE or both
•Good understanding of web services design & architecture principles
•Good understanding of one or more enterprise service bus platforms (e.g. Talend, Microsoft BizTalk, Websphere, Webmethods, Oracle Fusion, etc.)
•Good understanding of software development life-cycle processes, tools and technologies (e.g. Rational Unified Process)
•Experience using methodologies such as RAD, agile, waterfall, etc.
•Broad appreciation of Infrastructure design patterns, principles of enterprise architecture and service management frameworks e.g. ITIL)
•Ideally TOGAF (8+) or ITAC certified

Personal profile
•Demonstrable experience of dealing with complex, multi-stakeholder environments
•Educated to degree level
•A valid UK work permit
