Description

To co-ordinate, implement and ensure the effective and efficient delivery of their portfolio of projects (up to 150m over 4 years) in accordance with the Scottish Water Capital Investment appraisal process. Ensuring that the project and programme outputs are achieved as agreed in the SW delivery plan within time, budget and quality standards. Implements best practice project control and co-ordination of all project activities and supports the delivery teams and implements the reporting, governance and approvals processes on behalf of CID.
A detailed knowledge of Project controls is required including experience in the utilities industries.
Must possess appreciable knowledge of the Scottish Water business and SW Regulatory Contract.
Communication and excellent organisational skills, combined with negotiating and influencing skills are also required for the role.
The role holder should be highly practised and knowledgeable in the Scottish Water procurement and capex approvals procedures e.g. SWAM, Delegated approvals groups and appropriate escalation routes e.g. Capital Monitoring panel, and Scottish Water's objectives to enable them to control CID activities to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in submission of capex approvals and to ensure a "right first time" approach.
They require detailed knowledge and practical experience of a wide range of IT systems including MS Project, Excel and Word. Knowledge of P6 and CISP is highly desirable.
The role holder is required to have an ability to quickly develop knowledge of specialist software e.g. new programme management and project management software and will be key in successfully implementing and integrating this within Scottish Water to ensure the effective management of data including financial profiles, key dates, scheduling and milestones, customer info and all SW requirements for onward transmission to corporate systems and business reporting externally.
They additionally require strong team-working skills and an ability to interface at all levels of the organisation including senior managers.
Graduate level ability is required to demonstrate that all of the skills and competencies for the role have been met with a minimum of 2-3 years in a relevant field.
All of these skills and knowledge enable the role holder to co-ordinate the successful planning of projects and portfolios of work.
