Key Skills:
- A professional or vocational education in Tele-Communications System Engineering or related field experience
- Sound practical experience in the design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of modern communications, or information systems in a LAN/WAN environment
- Recent experience in the operation and management of digital switched networks and associated telecommunication systems to include multiplexing equipment and/or VTC systems
- Familiarity and be capable to make effective use of the Microsoft Office toolset
- Fluent spoken and written English
About the role:
As an experienced engineer, you will be supporting the VTC System Managers in the Level 2 and Level 3 operation and maintenance responsibilities towards the VTC Infrastructures and associated services.
Applicants must have valid Security Clearance - NATO secret or equivalent.
Main Tasks:
- Configuration Control
- Study, report and resolve inter MCU and MCU to Code Connectivity Issues
- Prepare end-to-end connectivity diagrams of the VTC infrastructure
- Prepare a centralized standardized technical procedure document for all sites to synergize their operation and maintenance procedures.
- Prepare standardized fault finding guides for all sites
- Work with the System Manager to establish the routing of VTCs across the network and identify the bandwidth utilization, resulting in the preparation of optimization recommendations.
- Investigate the schedule/booking tools, elicit customer feedback, and recommend solutions to improve the current working methods
- Investigate, and recommend, tools for monitoring and recording the quality of provided VTC services.
