Our large multinational client is looking for a Qualified Accountant to work in a Business Partnering role as part of a large programme of work, based in Telford. The role focuses on liaising with Financial Controllers, Commercial, Operations, Programme/Portfolio Directors and Project Analysts and reporting on revenue recognition. You will be able to understand a complex client contract and its financial and commercial implications on the business, whilst making decisions and challenging business managers to ensure maximum results. Relevant previous roles would include; Finance Business Partner, Commercial Accountant, Contract Accountant, Management Accountant.

You will be pro-actively involved in improving reporting and processes across Finance and have ownership of monthly actuals and rolling forecasts and the interpretation of variances from a financial, commercial and delivery perspective, with the ability to make recommendations to drive performance. You will also have ownership and interpretation of a detailed monthly reporting pack and present the position at monthly reviews to senior management and business leaders. Understand business risk factors, materiality and revenue recognition principles. Identify and address issues which affect business performance. A good understanding of balance sheet control. Production of ad hoc reports and analysis to support and to enable decision-making.

The role will require strong analytical skills and advanced Excel. Previous experience of Acces or VBA would be an advantage, as would exposure to a large ERP system such as SAP or Oracle.
