Description

To coordinate the activities of a small team of Engineers, Designers/CAD Operators as appropriate
To carry out professional engineering activities in a highly competent and efficient manner and ensure that the technical and safety integrity of the engineering is maintained while completing the tasks within allocated time.
To be aware of and adhere to the Company values, systems and processes including PEM and AKiMS.
Responsible for preparation of CTR's and input to estimates (MTO's etc.) and for weekly reporting of progress against the CTR's for direct report
Co-ordinate the assigned discipline engineers/designers within the small team ensuring technical quality and timely work performance
Ensure the co-ordination of the work with other disciplines on all multi-discipline projects
To ensure that the work allocated is completed in compliance with Line Managers requirements including work of others in team
Ensure project deliverables are generated via AkiMS where applicable
Take a proactive approach in organising and planning own work activities and the work of other in team as appropriate
Work within agreed man-hours and schedules
Liaise with other disciplines on design, fabrication, construction and commissioning issues and direct designer activities
Review and check the work of others
Ensure that discipline project files are prepared and maintained in accordance with project procedures
Ensuring that all Engineers, Designers, and CAD Operators are fully acquainted with the appropriate use of AKIMS and PEM.
To coach less experienced members within the team to assist with their development.
Ensure the compliance of the design and procurement activities with Company procedures and all relevant statutory regulations, codes and standards.
Obtain a defined scope of work from the Lead engineer or Project Engineer.
Ensure that the workscope is fully defined and in accordance with the clients requirements
To ensure recognition of changes to scope of work and preparation of Change Requests as appropriate
Identify any offshore / onshore survey requirements.
Review the work carried out by personnel in the group for accuracy, technical quality and fitness for purpose utilising own experience and PEM.
Review documents and drawings produced by the group and ensure that single and inter-discipline checks are carried out in accordance with company project procedures and PEM.
Assist procurement and project engineering personnel in the procurement of equipment and materials.
Apply for deviations to standards where applicable via the discipline head.
Keep up to date with professional and industry developments
The preparation of documents, deliverables and calculations including input to workpacks for construction and commissioning
Carry out manual/computer analysis and weight estimates as appropriate
Carry out onshore or offshore site surveys, as required, during the initial workscope definition or the development of the design
Apply experience and professional knowledge to provide solutions
Carry out single and multi-discipline checks and reviews
Review and comment on vendor information and take part in inspection and testing
Apply for deviations to standards where applicable via the discipline head
Keep up to date with professional and industry developments
