My client, a leading electronics manufacturer are looking for a Project Manager for their site on the South Coast

Role description

This position will be dedicated to managing the industrialisation / introduction of the production of a new product. Liaising with the Design Authority, the holder of that position will define, plan, budget and coordinate all necessary activities leading to successful manufacturing and validation of the 1st prototypes assembled and tested, within the timescale and budget agreed with the end customer.
They will ensure that subsequent manufacturing is catered for (BoM, standard costs, PAT instructions, incoming inspection, selected and qualified suppliers, traceability, ATE....).
The tasks shall be performed in full compliance with Quality Management System.
Job Responsibilities
Be the POC (point of contact) for the project
Review and validation of expectations and requirements - resolve any disputes, missing or incomplete data
Produce Industrialization Project budget in detailed definition
Produce Industrialization Project detailing scheduling and breakdown in Work Packages
Managing the project team on site
Escalating to the Project Leader on the any issues related to the budget, schedule, performances or any other relevant concerns
Produce Project reports for the Operations Manager and Project Leader
Collation and validation of definition data package
Creation of all related manufacturing data in ERP
Standard costing of product (in ERP : costed BoM, labor, yield)
Responsible for assembly and test line set up (from kitting to packaging)
Certifying availability of PAT instructions related to build and test of beacon
Ensuring workshop staff are trained and qualified
Deliver 5 prototypes for validation by Design Authority within agreed timescales
Deliver 100 first offs as per agreed delivery schedule

Who we're looking for

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level in electronics or mechanical engineering and have established experience in the electronics environment working within manufacturing and NPI. They should also have the following:

Design and use of test equipment. Calibration principles, Test capabilities.
Lean manufacturing: 5S, Design to Manufacture, Value Stream Mapping. Continuous improvement, Kaizen.
Practical Project management: Work Breakdown structure, dependencies, linked tasks, workload, definition of deliverables.
Understanding and use of PLM software.
Microsoft office literate.
Team management. Leadership, open minded. Able to reconcile diverging opinions, resolve disputes.
Ability to make educated decisions and ability to explain rationale.
Ability to work towards set objectives, flexible yet responsive and able to deliver.
Proactive. Strong drive to deliver on key milestones and maintain schedule timings
