Manufacturing Engineer - 6 x live roles

With the automotive industry in the UK reporting an 8.2% growth over the last 12 months and more cars than ever being exported overseas, this global supplier of automotive components is gearing up for a 50% increase in production over the next 2 years. With the need to free up manufacturing resource team to deal with new projects, the senior management has identified the need to recruit 6 contract manufacturing engineers to deal with current manufacturing. The successful manufacturing engineer will possess the following key skills:
- Experienced with day to day manufacturing.
- Able to problem solve and do route cause analysis.
- Experienced with relevant methodologies e.g. 8D, 5Y, etc.
- Able to implement engineering change.
- Practical experience - people who deal with issues on the shop floor, not office based.
- Background within an automotive environment. This could be OEM, Tier One or Tier Two.

The role will involve:
- Working as part of the current manufacturing team (day to day production). This will allow permanent engineers to go and support other projects.
- Working as part of a small team containing quality, manufacturing, logistics, and operators.
- Looking after a production line.
- Dealing with concerns and issues e.g. if an operator needs a jig, a layout may be poor, machinery may not be working, etc.
- Meet up over quality concerns e.g. weld fails, parts may go out with bits missing, etc.
- Route cause analysis and problem solving using appropriate methodologies e.g. 8D, 5Y.
- Implementing Engineering solutions. This could be changes to documentation e.g. SOPs (standard operating procedures), improving layouts, training, poke yoke, etc.
- Doing required documents - SOPs, PFMEAs, Process Flows.
