Electrical/Electronics Engineer

Purpose:

The MAST Upgrade Project requires an electrical/electronic engineer to deliver the detailed design, procurement, manufacturing and commissioning of a number of electrical/electronics systems.

Person Specification:

The person must have had within the last 5 years;

* Taken a significant role in the manufacture of electrical/electronic systems utilising power electronic devices such as IGBTs, thyristors and diodes. These systems must have had an overall minimum rating of 1kA and 100V.
* Direct involvement in the mechanical layout of such systems, including the specification or design of thermal cooling of devices.
* Practical experience in the testing and commissioning of electrical/electronic systems at the current and voltage ratings specified above.
* Experience of procurement through either direct ordering of components or the placement of large contracts.
* Experience of producing new and upgraded electrical/electronic schematics, system drawings and mechanical layouts.
* Experience of producing documentation for manufacturing, installation, commissioning and operation.

It is preferred that a person has an understanding of, and practically applied, the fundamentals of power electronics design.

Required qualifications and experience:

The person must have the following;

* A minimum qualification of a degree level in electrical/electronic engineering or a related discipline. However a lower level qualification may be acceptable with additional length of experience.
* A minimum 3 years practical experience in electrical/electronic engineering.
