Mechanical Design Engineer
Layouts for Process Plant and Piping
20 p/h, 4 Week Contract
Location - Lichfield
Due to winning several major orders with a number of renowned blue chip clients around the world, this well established supplier of process plant equipment is experiencing a rapid increase in workload. With this workload set to continue for the rest of the year, the company are struggling to complete all work within time and budget constraints. As a result there is an urgent requirement for a design draughtsman for contract work.

The role will involve:
- Working with the project manager.
- Creating general arrangement drawings from P&IDs.
- Producing layout drawings for wet process plant - pumps, piping, valves and vessels.
- Use of AutoCAD 3D to generate 3D models.
- Some project engineering- ordering components, filling out materials sheets, client liaising, potentially site visits.

The successful applicant must possess the following key skills. Our client will not consider applicants without all the following:
- Strong AutoCAD skills - Expert on AutoCAD 2D with good knowledge of AutoCAD 3D and the confidence to use it in a working environment.
- An engineering qualification - ideally HNC/HND.
- Experience with the layout design of wet process plant - food, beverage, cosmetics, health and beauty, water treatment, etc.
- Able to work autonomously.
- Able to order components and fill out materials sheets.
- Commutable to site (accommodation costs will not be provided for office based work).

Desirable but not essential:
- Experience with going out to site and taking measurements would be an advantage.
- AutoCAD 3D
- Experience of Drawing P&IDs
