Description
My client is a large wealth management company with offices UK wide. They seek a contract resource for 6 months initially with experience of IBM iseries/Linux. The role is based in London.The role will involve close work with the current Linux analysts, engineers and operators, and train and educate them on operational knowledge in the IBM I series platform.
There will be occasional travel to other parts of the UK.
You will need experience in AS400/iSeries/System i, and indepth knowledge of i5 OS and PTF patch upgrades, and DB2.
The activities of the role are as follows:
To collate documentation and procedures of the new OS platform
To ensure all monitoring is performed on all processes and ensure performance management is maintained at all times.
Provide capacity and availability management where appropriate
