The Job:
Working within the Advanced Targeting sector, this role requires the individual to work within the EO Systems area evolving new system concepts for next generation Electro-Optic airborne equipment within a highly competitive market place.
Key responsibility areas
The successful applicant will be responsible for progressing to successful conclusion a number of related product development activities under the guidance of an engineering lead.
Assume role of Systems Engineer for concept, development and integration and documentation of design.
Assume a level of ownership of agreed timescale and resource budgets, if applicable.
Interface with suppliers of key design components
Attend programme meetings.
Provide and share design advice with Lead Engineer and Design Authority as required.
Writing and creating test requirements specifications and production test procedures
De-bugging and testing new module designs and supporting module and system related test
Support verification and integration activities as required by a development type programme prior to system deliveries
Key skills and experience requirements for this position include concept definition, detailed design, requirements management and capture, life cycle management. Practical experience of working with equipment in a field-trials environment would also be beneficial.
The role requires a first or second degree (BSc, BEng, MEng, MSc, PhD, EngD) in Mathematics/Physics/Engineering (preferable) supported by appropriate fundamental elements.
