Job Title: Quality Manager

Location: Department:Technical

Reports To:Site Technical Manager - Deputises for site technical manager

1.Overall Purpose of the Job

To manage the site quality team to ensure that products that are manufactured are safe and legal and manufactured to standards that meet all agreed internal or external specifications.
To support the Technical Manager to instil a quality culture throughout the site this in turn supports the operations team to develop robust corrective action plans for quality improvements.

2.Description of Key Tasks

To co-ordinate all quality activities to ensure that products are manufactured against agreed specifications and parameters
To manage the site quality team inclusive of disciplinary investigations and performance management
To maintain a robust auditing programme that continues to meet the requirements set by all audit bodies.
To develop a quality culture throughout the manufacturing site by supporting the technical manager and site team to continuously improve against standards
To support the delivery of site technical KPIs,
To agree specifications that are achievable and review to ensure that customer satisfaction is always met - including NPD handover
To support the development of robust corrective action plans to ensure any consumer or customer dissatisfaction is addressed
Secondary contact with Government and Non Governmental organisational bodies - inclusive of retailer interface.
Undertakes investigations on any internal incidents that have led to out of specification product leaving site control - main Co-ordinator of recall system and co-ordination of such
To take an over-view of site hygiene and work with relevant departments to ensure there are no quality or food safety issues arising from this area
To check and sign off all customer product samples prior to dispatch
To maintain and amend as required the site Quality process
To co-ordinate site improvement meetings for projects and ongoing continuous improvement of quality standards
To be customer facing as required either through audit or specific meetings

3.Accountability/Responsibility (state direct/indirect, limits of authority, responsibilities for assets, materials, people, sales turnover etc
Accountability for final product compliance to specified standards.
Accountability for all aspects of site auditing systems.
Accountability for the site maintenance of External and Internal Standards in respect to quality areas. (BRC, Retailer, Internal audits etc)
Responsible for site quality contracts and delivery of these to group KPIs
Responsible for ensuring compliance with group policy
Responsible for identifying training and development needs of quality department personnel - inclusive of discipline and performance management programmes
