Senior Linux Administrator required for a fantastic 15 month contract opportunity in Belgium.
Our client, who is a global leader in the technology industry, is currently seeking a Senior Linux Administrator for an excellent career opportunity. The ideal candidate will have proven skills using Linux (Ubuntu/Redhat), TCP/IP, CISCO and system security. You will be working with 1 other administrator and will be responsible for the computing architecture of a department comprising 80 developers. The department specialises in Middleware and network solutions, so their needs are varied and specific.
Although Linux (Ubuntu/Redhat), TCP/IP, CISCO and system security experience is essential, skills with NIS, NFS, BIND, DHCP,Apache, Tomcat and Samba would be highly advantageous. The main challenge of the system administration team is to provide a complex, mixed development environment, consisting of Windows and Linux workstations and Servers, with specific networking needs. The team is responsible for the complete development environment, from planning the budget, designing the network architecture, plugging in the cables, to installing and maintaining Linux and Windows desktops and Servers.
